Tubeplugged AudioMulch Setup
Wolfgang Dorninger invited me to his live remix project „8K=8K+-(G)<>(A)<>(N)“ on 26.10.2007 in Linz and it was a great honour and big fun to me, to take part.
The performance was splitted in 3 parts - (G)ranular - (A)nalogue - (N)etwork. The (G) and (A) part was mostly done by Wolfgang and Jörg Stelkens who assisted – read about the project on Fadis project site.
For the network part, there was also Werner Jauk (Graz, Austria) involved, who streamed his sounds to the event location in Linz, too.
me at home and live in Linz ;-)
TubePlug
The networkpart, was driven by the great and simple TubePlug VST Plugin, which is really a mighty tool, to jam with your pals over a network - means online, with any audiosoftware you want!
If you start the Plugin as Receiver (you need to logon to a TubePlug server which can be executed with the same plugin), you can pickup the server sum of all connected people and their sounds, or listen to individual soundstreams from each other, including your own.
The sender part of the Plugin is very simple too. Just connect to the same server (your name will appear in the receiver-list) and add your output to server-sum.
There is a little delaytime of shure, but that's no problem. You can set the quality in server-mode from 32 to 128kbps, depends on your bandwidth.
Conclusion
As I said, it was a great pleasure for me, to be part of that.
After the show, Werner and I jammed a bit and it was very nice. Two soundmakers sitting alone at home and made some noise.
The recording is very special to me, because there are some typical dronings and sounds from me and a treated guitar from Werner which sounds very cool. Because of the 64kbps encoding, you can hear the jittering and sharpness but it gives a special mood to that.
I will post mp3 soon!
I would like say thanks again to Wolfgang, Werner and Jörg!
